PowerBroker error when authenticating: /lib64/libk5crypto.so.3: undefined symbol: EVP KDF ctrl - Red Hat Customer Portal

Issue

  • On RHEL host with PowerBroker installed and enabled, user is not able to lớn authenticate, i.e. ssh session, running sudo or su
  • Issue happens after updating openssl-libs

  • PowerBroker process pbrun or pbksh returned below error in /var/log/secure:

    pbrun22.2.0-07: PAM unable to lớn dlopen(/usr/lib64/security/pam_unix.so): /lib64/libk5crypto.so.3: undefined symbol: EVP_KDF_ctrl, version OPENSSL_1_1_1b

pbksh23.1.0-12: PAM unable to lớn dlopen(/lib/security/$ISA/pam_unix.so): /lib64/libk5crypto.so.3: undefined symbol: EVP_KDF_ctrl, version OPENSSL_1_1_1b
pbksh23.1.0-12: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/$ISA/pam_unix.so
